Spectacular Revology Shelby GT500 makes Las Vegas debut

Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct 31, 2017– The most exciting reproduction Mustang yet from Revology Cars is making its debut today at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.  A Revology 1967 Shelby GT500, one of the most highly sought after Shelby models, is being featured on the ROUSH Performance SEMA display.

The Revology Shelby GT500 is powered by a ROUSH Performance-built all-aluminum, supercharged 5.0L V-8 engine. Based on the Ford DOHC Ti-VCT ‘Coyote’ motor, the ROUSH 5.0 RSC powerplant is rated at 600hp and 475 lb ft of torque.

The Revology Shelby GT500 is based on Revology’s front engine, rear-wheel drive M58 platform.  For the GT500, several important changes were made to accommodate the supercharged engine.  “We revised the driveline, cooling, electrical, suspension, and even the body of the car to handle the increased output,” says Revology president and founder, Tom Scarpello.   “The 5.0 RSC is a great engine; reliable, sophisticated and bulletproof, with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty.  We knew this was the engine we wanted for the GT500, so we designed the car around it.”

The reveal of the Shelby GT500 comes a year after Revology unveiled its 1966 Shelby GT350 at SEMA in 2016. With its reproduction GT500, Revology will follow its proven formula for reproducing classic Mustang models. “Our cars feature modern technology to improve performance, reliability, durability, fuel economy, safety, and comfort,” says Scarpello, “while retaining the essential character and style of the original design.”

Revology Cars is licensed by Shelby to build authorized reproductions of the vintage 1960s Shelby Mustang automobiles.  Each Revology Shelby GT500 will be documented in the Worldwide Shelby Registry.

The new Revology Shelby GT500 is priced at $219,000. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, power four-wheel disc brakes with 330mm slotted and ventilated rotors, six-piston calipers in front and four-piston in the rear, power rack and pinion steering, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, remote trunk release, intermittent wipers, tilt column, Bluetooth, leather seating, three-point seat belts, and a rolling code encrypted ignition system.

Why own a reproduction Revology GT500 instead of an original? Says Scarpello: “Most original cars are rarely driven.  The Revology is designed to be driven anywhere, anytime.  It really depends on your priorities.  If you love to drive, our car is for you.”

The Revology GT500 on display at SEMA was built for Mark Pieloch, who already owns two Revology Mustangs, a 1966 GT convertible and 1966 GT350H.  “I chose Revology because of the way they integrate modern technology into the classic body styles of the 1960s,” says Pieloch.  “Revology is a cutting-edge technology company, working to build the best vehicle possible.  The classic vehicle market is evolving; today people are looking for more features and reliability compared to the people who bought these cars in the 1960s.  In particular, people under 50 love the styling of these cars but want modern performance and creature comforts, and that is what Revology delivers.”

Revology Cars is an Orlando, Florida-based company focusing on production of classic 1960s automobiles, fitted with the latest technology and features.

Revology started operations in 2014 and garnered extensive publicity and praise for the quality and execution of its first 1966 Mustang convertible, exhibited at the prestigious Amelia Island Concours in 2015. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, producing a series of different original Mustang models and Shelby GT versions.

Revology Mustangs have been purchased by enthusiasts in the U.S., Europe and Asia.  Revology buyers are attracted by a vehicle that combines the revered design of the original with the latest hardware and technology. It’s a special combination that delivers the unique appeal of the classic Mustang with the driving characteristics of a modern car.

While there are other players in the reproduction classic car business, Revology is distinguished by the experience and professionalism of its founder, Tom Scarpello, plus his talented team of technicians and engineers.

With a long career in the automotive industry, Scarpello’s experience included roles as leader of the Special Vehicle Team at Ford and senior management roles at Jaguar, Nissan and Infiniti brands. This career gave Scarpello the experience and deep knowledge of the many automotive industry disciplines, from manufacturing to marketing, needed to start a car company of his own.

Scarpello’s interest in the original Ford Mustang was borne of the fact that his first car was a Mustang, an experience he shares with many Americans, who now appreciate the appeal of a reproduction Mustang.

“The 1960s was a unique period of unbridled creativity and expression in vehicle design,” says Scarpello. “We are preserving the legacy of these cars, while making them reliable and fun to drive.”

Scarpello’s extensive OEM background is apparent in the way his company operates, blending OEM discipline with a nimble, entrepreneurial mindset and a deep understanding of the customers’ needs and wants.
