Hi, I'm Tom Scarpello of Revology cars, and this is car# 69 - 1966 Shelby GT350 convertible in Brittany Blue Metallic with Wimbledon White stripes. So, this is our first ever limited-edition production run. We're only going to build 12 ‘66 Shelby GT350 convertibles. This is car #1 of 12. So why only 12? Well, the ‘66 GT350 convertible wasn't even a production car. There were only four cars built. They were prototypes.   Basically, in anticipation of the upcoming 1968 Shelby convertible, they were built for development work, and Carol, later in the 1980s, decided to do a continuation run of ‘66 GT350 convertibles. He rounded up 12, so you had the four original cars, and then you had the 12 continuation cars.   Now one of the four original cars sold recently at the Mecum auction in Indianapolis this summer for 1.1 million, which is a pretty impressive number, obviously, but even the continuation cars have sold for over 200,000 each. So, by any measure, either the original GT350 convertible or the continuation GT350 convertible is a pretty special car from a collector's standpoint.   So, what is it? Is it a replica? Is it a reproduction? Well, a replica is defined as an exact copy of something, and this is definitely not an exact copy. The appearance is very authentic, but everything that makes it functional is completely different. It's not a clone. So, is it a tribute car? It's an honor for us to be able to build officially licensed Shelby automobiles. So, it differs enough from the original that it's still something else.  So, we just call it an officially licensed reproduction, and it is different. It's not an original Shelby. It's not intended to be an original Shelby. It's intended to capture the good things about that original car. The style, the design, the character, but to bring in all the good things about modern cars, the performance, the functionality, and the craftsmanship, and that's why it's really in a class by itself. This doesn't really fit an existing characterization.   So, I was fortunate enough to have known Carol Shelby and work with him during my time at Ford, and although he passed in 2012 and Revology started in 2014. I knew him well enough to be confident that if he were alive today and he was seeing what we were doing with his namesake, he would be very supportive and very proud of what we're doing.   Doing things using modern technology, but in the way that Shelby would have done it, had he had that technology available to him. It's very important! It's very important for authenticity to keep all of what makes it special but then make it usable and make it drivable. Make it a car you can take out, not worry about, and enjoy and show off and just have fun with it because, at the end of the day, it's a car. It's supposed to be driven. You can't drive it. What's the point?
