Ford’s latest high performance V8 delivers modern performance and refinement in Revology’s 1960s Mustangs

There’s a good reason Revology Cars’ reproduction Mustangs have been powered by Ford’s high-tech 5.0L Ti-VCT DOHC V8 engine, known to enthusiasts as the ‘Coyote’, since day one.

Founder and CEO Tom Scarpello says the ‘Coyote’, now in its third generation, is a key reason customers love their Revology Mustangs. “Our buyers are impressed with not only the power, but also with the overall driveability,” he says. “The way the car accelerates, idles smoothly, and never misbehaves in heat or cold, at high or low altitude.”

Revology Cars’ field service and lead powertrain and chassis technician, Rich Niles adds: “People expecting to see a pushrod V8 engine are surprised to find a ‘Coyote’ lurking under the hood.  But with modern power, torque, efficiency, and a two-year warranty, the ‘Coyote’ is by far the best option for the customer.  Plus, it sounds great!”

Installing an engine as complex as the ‘Coyote’ in an original Mustang is a challenge, acknowledges Jonathon Sexton, Revology Cars’ electrical lead technician. “The sophisticated engine management system can seem intimidating,” says Sexton.  “But at Revology we have developed our own electrical system to accommodate the ‘Coyote’. And there are major advantages to using this engine in terms of servicing. You can use the engine’s advanced diagnostics to identify problems, which means Ford service shops anywhere in the world can make efficient and accurate repairs.”

“The ‘Coyote’ is an engine of many ‘abilities’, says Scarpello. “Driveability, reliability, serviceability, and flexibility.  We offer 460 hp naturally aspirated and 710 hp supercharged versions, both with a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.  This is one engine that truly does it all.”

Revology is the first company ever licensed by Ford to build a new reproduction Ford.  It is also one of a handful of companies worldwide licensed by Shelby.

Revology offers a complete lineup of licensed reproduction 1965-1968 Mustang and Shelby GT500 and GT350 models.
