Revology captivates the Amelia Concours with stunning 1968 Shelby GT500KR convertible

Orlando, FL (March 1, 2024) Making its public debut at the 2024 Amelia Concours d’Elegance is the newest model from Revology Cars, a 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible.

The droptop launch comes on the heels of Revology’s 1968 Shelby GT500KR 2+2 Fastback, which was introduced last fall.

The Orlando, Florida-based builder of reproduction original Ford Mustang and Shelby models has a special affinity for convertibles.  Revology’s first concept car was a 1966 Mustang convertible, which was shown at the Amelia Concours back in 2014.

Since that debut, the company has been building 1965 and 1966 Mustang convertibles alongside other Mustang and Shelby models. However, the GT500KR represents the first ever 1968 convertible from Revology.

As with other Revology convertibles, the GT500KR features structural enhancements to improve body stiffness and torsional rigidity. These changes are important especially given the significantly increased performance of the Revology convertibles, as compared to the originals.

In the case of the Revology GT500KR Convertible, the powertrain is the same 710hp supercharged 5.0-liter Ti-VCT ‘Coyote’ V8 engine as the company’s 1967 Shelby GT500. As such, the Revology GT500KR has approximately twice the power as the naturally aspirated 7.0-liter engine in the original 1968 KR.

Revology’s GT500 model was tested last year by Car and Driver magazine, which recorded a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and covered the ¼ mile in 11.7 seconds at 124 mph.

The GT500KR convertible’s engine is paired with a choice of six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmissions. The KR comes standard with air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, a reverse camera, Bluetooth, and many other modern comfort and convenience features. Revology’s newest convertible can be ordered in a wide variety of authentic original colors, as well as modern hues, and interiors are trimmed either in premium OEM leather or leatherette.

Revology is the first company ever licensed by Ford to build a new reproduction Ford.  It is also one of a handful of companies worldwide licensed by Shelby.

Revology offers a complete lineup of licensed reproduction 1965-1968 Mustang and Shelby GTs. Detailed specifications including content and pricing can be found on the Revology Cars website at www.revologycars.com, or by contacting Revology Cars directly at (800) 974-4463.
