Revology Cars unveils its latest high tech 460hp reproduction 1966 Shelby GT350

Florida’s Revology Cars has established a worldwide reputation for its new, Ford-licensed reproduction Mustangs that blend old world craftsmanship with modern technology. Now, Revology has upped the ante with its latest model, featuring the third generation of Ford’s state-of-the-art all-aluminum, quad cam, 32 valve V8, commonly known as the “Gen 3 Coyote” engine.

Revology has gone all in with the Gen 3 Coyote, having received several of the first examples of Ford’s M-6007-M50C Gen 3 crate engines. The company will deliver five Gen 3 powered cars by the end of March. “The Coyote engine is one of the best performance engines ever made,” says Tom Scarpello, CEO and founder of Revology Cars. “Prodigious power, amazing sound track, completely refined, and totally reliable. With 460 horsepower and 420 lb./ft. of torque on tap, the Gen 3 takes it to a new level. For us, there was no question which engine to choose.”

Ford Performance offers the Gen 3 Coyote crate engine and PCM control pack as a universal powertrain package that can be installed on any vehicle. To adapt the Gen 3 Coyote for the Revology Mustang, Revology’s engineering team developed a new fuel delivery system, a new air intake, and a new PCM calibration. “The Gen 3 is an extremely sophisticated engine,

but with the components we have designed it is remarkably simple to install in a vintage Mustang,” says Aaron Wright, Revology’s Chief Engineer. “Very soon, we will be making all of these components available to the aftermarket.”

The Gen 3 Coyote engine is right at home in the Revology licensed reproduction 1966 Shelby GT350. Packaging is as you would expect on a modern car—there is little wasted space, and everything is designed for ease of servicing. “A technician familiar with late model Ford powertrains will find the Revology Mustang immediately familiar,” says Scarpello. “Even our wiring harness uses the same component color codes as the Ford harness.”

Driving the Revology Shelby GT350 with the Gen 3 Coyote engine, the increased power and torque is apparent. Acceleration is even more instantaneous, yet drivability is what you would expect from a modern engine. Inching along in bumper to bumper traffic or spinning to its 7500 rpm redline, the Gen 3 does it all.
