FAQ

What is unique about the Revology Mustang replica?

The Revology Mustang replica is the world’s first new replica of the original Mustang. It is a brand new car, not a restored one. Although it looks like an original Mustang, the use of modern technology significantly improves its functionality. Also, it is backed by a factory warranty.

What is the warranty coverage?

The Revology Mustang replica bumper to bumper warranty is for one year with unlimited mileage. In addition, the powertrain (engine, transmission, and rear end) carries a two year warranty and the body is covered for five years against rust and corrosion.

How much of the Revology Mustang replica is new?

Virtually the entire car is new, with the exception of the 4R70W and 4L65E automatic transmssions, which are remanufactured, and handful of trim items that are not yet available as reproduction parts.

What can a customer do if the state or country in which he lives has no provision for registration of a replica vehicle?

Since the Revology Mustang replica uses the Ford-licensed Dynacorn body, its dimensions are identical to the original Mustang. Therefore, it is possible to rebuild an original Mustang to Revology specifications. Revology offers this option to customers who are not able to legally register a replica vehicle in their state or country.

What is the difference between a Revology Mustang replica and a Revology Mustang built from an original   body?

The two are mechanically identical. There are subtle differences is in how the body is assembled and in the body and trim parts that are used. The new replica model features a new, Ford-licensed body. All parts are new or remanufactured by Ford. The vehicle carries a 17-digit VIN with the Revology worldwide manufacturer identifier code (WMI) and is titled as a replica. The restored original model features an original 1964 ½ – 1966 Mustang body rebuilt with new sheet metal to replace rusted and/or damaged parts. It retains its original VIN. Original parts are restored and reused where it is practical to do so. All other parts are either new or remanufactured by Ford.

Which is better, the new Revology Mustang replica or having a Revology Mustang built from an original car?

They are both world-class in their respective categories, so it cannot be said that one is “better” than the other. A new replica is a brand new car, top to bottom, except for the 4R70W or 4L65E electronically controlled automatic transmission and handful of trim parts that are not available as reproductions. A restored original, on the other hand, features several original parts that have been restored. We think the best way to decide which to buy is based on titling and registration requirements in your state or country.

Will Revology offer replicas of the 1967-68 and/or 1969-70 Mustangs in the future?

We started with the 1964½-1966 because it is the original iconic Mustang. But, we will build whatever our customers want, so if there is enough demand for the later models, we certainly will build them.

Does Revology build hot rods and custom cars?

Yes. Although Revology is not a “hot rod” shop per se, we do perform vehicle customization work at the Revology Custom Shop. The Custom Shop is, as the name implies, a creative workshop in which a customer’s vision can be turned into reality. While Revology Mustangs are built to a set of established parameters, virtually anything is possible at the Custom Shop.

Can Revology turn my Mustang into a Revology Mustang?

Yes, it can be done completely or partially to our specification, based on your preference. This work can be done at the Revology Custom Shop.

How can I have confidence that the quality and workmanship will be of the highest standard?

All Revology Mustang replicas use the same set of proven components and go through a standardized build process. Presently, we only build the 65-66 Mustang replica, so we are truly experts in this model. Perhaps most meaningfully, the cars are backed by a factory warranty.

Can I test drive a Revology Mustang prior to buying one?

Yes. The Revology Mustang can be test driven at our facility in Orlando, FL, with an advance reservation.

What is the price?

The 2017 Revology Mustang replica starts at $129,750.00. That price is for a well-equipped replica fastback with 50-state emissions certified engine, automatic transmission, and Pony interior. Several options are available, which are shown on our order guide.

What is the payment schedule?

Payment is made in four equal installments. The first 1/4 payment is made upon submission of the initial production order. The next 1/4 payment is made when the body goes into production. The next ¼ payment is made when the body is painted, and the last 1/4 installment is made upon delivery.

What is the resale value of the Revology Mustang?

It is difficult to predict resale values for any new car. However, you can get a general idea of the potential resale value by looking at auction results for classic automobiles that have been upgraded with modern components and restored to an extremely high standard. But remember, they don’t come with a warranty.

Where can I have my Revology Mustang serviced?

Revology Mustangs can be serviced at any Ford dealership, and indeed at virtually any independent shop that is capable of servicing both early and late model Mustangs.

Where can I have warranty work performed?

Warranty work can be completed at any participating Ford dealership in the U.S. and Canada. Warranty claims are paid by Revology directly to the dealership so the process is seamless for the customer.

What type of fuel does the Revology Mustang use?

All Revology Mustangs are designed to run on Premium Unleaded fuel, 91 octane rating or higher.

What type of mileage can I expect?

Revology has not run the official EPA cycle, but our test cars typically turn in an average of 16-18 mpg combined city and highway, depending on how they are driven.

What colors are available?

Virtually all of the original Mustang colors, from the 1960s to the present, are available. Custom colors can be specified at extra cost.

Can I have my Revology Mustang custom-made to my specification?

Yes. However, deviations from standard specification can void the warranty for that component or related components that may be affected by the change. Depending on the level of customization, it may be preferable to commission a build through the Revology Custom Shop.

Why did Revology drop the 5.0L EFI engine?

We originally intended the 5.0L EFI engine as the “base” engine to complement the Coyote, the high performance option. We later added the LS3 E-ROD in order to comply with new legislation regarding the registration of replica automobiles. When we went back to our clients who had chosen the 5.0L EFI and told them about the E-ROD, 100% of them elected to switch, leaving the 5.0L EFI with no takers. It is understandable, as the modern crate engines used in today’s Mustang and Camaro are truly compelling for their performance and light weight. These engines are simply the best value for the money.

After I make my first installment payment, what assurance do I have that my car will actually be built on time, as specified?

Revology Cars will keep you notified of the production status of your car through a password-protected owner portal. When your car goes into production, photos will be posted daily so that you can monitor progress. Just like in the Ford factory, all cars are assigned a factory build sheet when the customer order is signed off. All cars will be built strictly according to the factory build sheet.

Why did the powertrain warranty change from three years to two?

We decided to align our warranty with the two year warranties offered by Ford and GM on the Coyote and LS3 crate engines. Customers who placed deposits prior to July 1, 2015 are grandfathered under the prior warranty policy.

Why do you offer the LS3 engine in a Ford?

Simply, we offer it to comply with new federal legislation regarding the registration of replica automobiles. The federal mandate requires the eligible replica to be equipped with a modern, emissions-certified engine. Presently, the E-ROD is the only engine on the market that is certified. As soon as Ford makes a certified Coyote engine available, we will offer it. Meanwhile, the LS3 E-ROD is quite an impressive piece of hardware. It is bulletproof, lightweight, makes great power, and packages extremely well. It is also a very cost effective alternative to the Coyote. We will always strive to offer the best possible Ford-branded powertrain solutions. However, like any company, we must also comply fully with federal and state regulations.
