Revology Mustang owners have a deep-rooted passion for automobiles. Some are lifelong Mustang enthusiasts, but many are simply fans of the combination of classic style and modern convenience that Revology’s American-made Mustangs represent.
Take, for instance, owners Joe from Seattle (Car #92) and Floridian Craig (Car #93), who both bought Revology Shelby GT350s. Coincidentally, both Revology owners are also in the commercial real estate business.
“I wouldn’t say I am a die-hard enthusiast,” says Joe, despite the fact he grew up in a family that would attend NASCAR races. “These days I don’t go to tracks at all or go to car shows.”
However about 10 years ago Joe bought a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am and then started looking at other muscle car alternatives. “I realized that I wanted some sort of resto mod with the style of the period but with modern day conveniences.”
After much research, Joe’s interest in Shelby GT350 and GT500 models led to Revology Cars and the realization that Revology were “the best in the business.”
Joe’s car, a 1967 Shelby GT350 2+2 Fastback in Wimbledon white with blue stripes, has exceeded his expectations, he says, as has the customer service.
“I love it, it’s a great to have such a vehicle that can be a daily driver,” says Joe. “We keep it at our second home in California, drive it to the grocery store, drive it to golf course, it gets used like a regular car.”
And that ease of use, for Joe, is one of the key attractions of a Revology Mustang. “You don’t want the car to be a pain in the neck, you don’t want the car to just be for show.”
As well as being easy to own, the GT350 garners plenty of attention wherever Joe takes it. “Everybody loves it,” he says. “We take it out to a public park and scores of people are walking around taking photos. You get a lot of smiles and thumbs up.”
Among the features Joe appreciates are the power window controls that look like original crank handles. “It’s great how they kept the old school look. It looks so authentic and the exhaust note is very cool. Plus it’s pretty damn fast.”
Across the country in Florida, Craig shares a similar story to Joe. “I am not a hard-core enthusiast,” says Craig, “but I do love cars and motorcycles. But I want things I can enjoy and drive.”
Craig’s chosen Revology Mustang, a ’66 Shelby GT350 convertible in Jet Black Metallic, is a limited edition model. “It’s unbelievable, so much fun to drive,” he says. “I went out early to pick up breakfast for my kids and it was such a nice morning that I kept going another five miles just to stay in the car longer.”
For Craig, Revology ownership happened several years after he first saw one of the company cars. “I saw Revology’s first prototype at a car show in Winter Park and really liked it. I had been thinking about Shelby GT350s and 500s and so some years later when Revology came out with those models, I went to see them.”
Craig says an entertaining aspect of the purchase was that one of his best friends also ordered a Revology Mustang at the same time. “We even picked up our cars the same day, it was a super fun process.”
Part of the positive purchase experience for Craig was the attention to detail shown by Yoshi Amano, Revology marketing and sales director and Tom Scarpello, company founder and CEO.
“Yoshi and Tom care so much about every aspect,” notes Craig. “In general, I love craftsmanship and hand made things and they really care about that, on top of the engineering.
“It’s just fun to drive, it feels really special to be in the car.”
While drivability is important, for Craig reliability is even more critical. “I don’t have mechanics around to fix things. But I can get in my GT350, push the start button and it immediately turns over and I’m driving.”
“I am not a car collector, I like driving all the vehicles I have. The idea of having a car that you can’t use because it doesn’t function properly doesn’t work for me.
Craig points to another factor in favor of Revology, versus buying a restored original car. “A lot of old cars are sold at auction, which has its own risks,” he says. “You wonder what condition is it in, who exactly did the restoration work, what parts were used.
“With Revology you know it’s Tom in charge of everything and he is much more of an expert than I ever will be. That is a great feeling.”
