Orlando, FL (September 15, 2021) – Echoing Ford’s footsteps back in 1967, Revology Cars is launching the latest editions to its range of reproduction original Mustang models.
Revology’s 1967 Mustang GT and GTA models follow the formula Ford used over 50 years ago, as the automaker revamped its highly successful ‘pony car’ to face new rivals such as the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird.
Ford applied the ‘GT’ designation to manual transmission Mustangs, while automatic versions were badged ‘GTA’.
Revology carries on this tradition with its GT and GTA models, except Revology’s manual transmission GT model features a close-ratio Tremec six-speed in place of the original car’s four-speed. And Revology’s automatic transmission GTA model features Ford’s current 10R80 10-speed electronically controlled automatic, as opposed to the original three-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
As with all other Revology Mustang models, the ’67 GT and GTA models are built on the same M58 platform and benefit from the extensive engineering and development work completed to date.
The Revology 1967 Mustang GT/GTA 2+2 Fastback is similar in appearance to the company’s 1968 Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback, but there are subtle differences that pay homage to each car’s heritage.
The 1967 GT and GTA models feature:
- Horse and corral grille with fog lamps
- GT side stripes that run horizontally above the rocker panels
- GT or GTA fender emblems
- Styled aluminum wheels with blue horse and tribar center caps
- M-U-S-T-A-N-G letters on the decklid
- GT flip down fuel cap
- Dual exhaust tips
Revology 1967 Mustang GTs and GTAs come standard with laser cut brushed aluminum interior accents inspired by the Interior Décor Group, which was the highest specification interior trim available in 1967.
Revology’s 1967 GT and GTA models come standard with Ford’s current 5.0L Ti-VCT DOHC “Coyote” V8, which puts out 460hp SAE net and revs to 7500rpm. In contrast, the 390 cubic inch big block engine, the most powerful engine available in the 1967 Mustang GT and GTA, was rated at 320hp gross, or approximately 275hp SAE net.
“The Revology 1967 Mustang GT and GTA are among the most authentically styled models we produce,” says Tom Scarpello, Revology Cars founder and CEO. “For the client who values an original appearance but also enjoys driving, the GT and GTA are excellent choices.”
Revology is the first company ever licensed by Ford to build a new reproduction Ford. It is also one of a handful of companies worldwide licensed by Shelby.
